The aircraft factory of the Müller brothers in Griesheim, which is shown in this photo, emerged from a furniture workshop. In 1928 the company even presented a model at the International Air Show in Paris. In addition to Frankfurt and Berlin, Darmstadt was a center of German aircraft construction: the pioneer August Euler had been building aircraft in Griesheim since 1909. The airport founded there in 1908 was the first German airport. Since Griesheim, along with Groß-Gerau, Rüsselsheim, Arheilgen and Weiterstadt, was one of the areas occupied by Allied troops after the First World War, the airport could not be used. The aircraft company Gebrüder Müller was also temporarily unable to fly in its aircraft.
