Henschel Flugzeugwerke GmbH, a subsidiary of Kasseler Lokomotivfabrik Henschel & Son, was founded in 1933 in Berlin Joachimsthal by Oscar R. Henschel . The RLM demanded the development and manufacture of aircraft. Since 1934 is the main production facility was at the airport in Schönefeld in Berlin.
