80 He 112s were manufactured for export under the designation He 112 E (Wnr. 2001 to 2080). Japan was the first foreign customer to receive four He 112s in 1937 and a further 26 in 1938, which were flown by the naval aviators in China under the designation A7Hel and served as teaching and study objects. Spain bought 19 He 112s, Romania 30 and Hungary received three He 112 E in 1939. This total of 82 He 112s exported includes two of the 15 prototypes or pre-series machines mentioned above, the identity of which cannot be clearly determined. In December 1937, for example, the He 112 A-03 (Wnr. 1957. D-IZMY) was intended for export to Japan.
