The two-seat torpedo aircraft was designed as a cantilever biplane of mixed construction; the design and construction were again the work of Ernst von Lössl. In its structure and shape, the aircraft was practically a significantly enlarged CC 15 on floats. Therefore, a complete construction description will be omitted; instead, only the differences between the CST 18 and the CC 15 will be mentioned below: The CST 18 was fully seaworthy and conformed to the construction regulations of the former Imperial German Navy. Accordingly, it was also suitable for transfer to aircraft carriers and, equipped with sea anchors, could remain at sea for extended periods in bad weather. The floats were of two-stage construction and planked with plywood. The float body had seven bulkheads and was also constructed according to naval regulations. Due to its open truss construction, the float frame was characterized by a particularly simple arrangement and a minimal number of struts. The upper and lower wings had the same wingspan, and their undersides were continuous and straight. The two halves of the lower wing were not coupled with wedge-shaped quick-release fasteners, but rather held together by a spar coupling designed as a claw-type quick-release fastener. Beneath the fuselage was a long, narrow tub with a concave underside, extending almost to the rear, in which a 750 kg torpedo could be transported semi-submerged. The intended engine was the Rolls-Royce "Condor" twelve-cylinder V-engine (600 hp/441 kW). The CST 18 torpedo aircraft also apparently remained only a project.
