Despite the ban on the construction of military aircraft German aircraft manufacturers continued to develop and produce aircraft for the needs of the military. Most often, tests of such aircraft was carried out either under the guise of civilian aircraft or in neutral countries (most often Denmark and Sweden).
One of these aircraft was a training aircraft C.27 seaplane designed and built by Caspar Werke AG in 1926. It was a two-seat biplane equipped with a BMW IVa engine 305 hp
Two aircraft were built (Werk. N. 7001. 7004. The first was shown at an exhibition in Milan in 1927, and in the following year it was sold to DVS GmbH (Deutsche Verkehrsfliegerschule), where he received the registration number D-1276. In March 1928, a second aircraft was handed over to the DVS (received the number D-1023). It was decommissioned in March 1932.
