Albatros L 83 with Junkers L-5 engine.
Albatros has built a new low-wing aircraft as a cargo aircraft for transport and special purposes on behalf of the German
Commercial Pilot School. The hull with a fully enclosed cockpit is made of welded tubular steel at the front and braced at the rear. Wing outline
trapezoidal, wing structure duralumin covered with fabric.
The tail unit, which is positioned high above the fuselage, also consists of fabric-covered metal skeleton. Height fin adjustable in flight. Chassis raised, axle
with pressure rubber spring struts, spur steerable and pressure rubber suspension.
The ratio between set-up weight and payload is, as shown below, very favourable and grants an operating radius of over 3500 km.
Wingspan 25 m, length 13 m, height 3.5 m, set-up weight approx. 1525 kg, payload approx. 1475 kg, flight weight 3000 kg, wing area 57 m2, fuel would normally be 320 1
in the wing - 5 hours
