The second airliner design from 1928 was the Raab-Katzenstein RK 14. With a seating capacity of 8 seats and a 600 hp engine, it was designed for use on medium-haul routes or on main routes with lower seat demand and competed with the Messerschmitt M20 or Dornier Merkur. The engines offered were a Junkers L55 (RK 14a) or a BMW VI (RK 14b). The unit price in 1928 was around 70,000 RM per aircraft. The only customer in Germany that could be considered for such an aircraft, Luft Hansa, showed no interest in the aircraft of the newcomer in the airliner segment.
