The first design, the RaKa RK 10, was based directly on the development of the Raab-Katzenstein RK 3 from 1926 as a small commuter aircraft. The single-engine biplane offered space for 2-3 passengers, who were accommodated in a closed cabin integrated into the fuselage. As with all commercial aircraft developments in this series, the RaKa RK 10a was to be powered by a 280 hp Junkers L5 engine or a 250 hp BMW IV engine for the RaKa RK 10b.
