The Messerschmitt Bf 165 was a German long-range bomber project. There is very little published about the Bf 165, but it is known that wind tunnel testing of the aircraft began in 1937. A full-scale mockup of the aircraft was constructed for display to the Reichsführer in 1937. The Bf 165 was designed to have a top speed of 600 km/h, a range of 6000 km, and a bombload of 1000kg.
The original project for this series is also largely unknown. From two sources available , however, it can be assumed that it was a large combat aircraft with a thick fuselage and multiple weapons.

This also comes from the discussions on wartime solutions that were carried out at the AVA in Göttingen in 1937. Measurements were taken there of fuselage model configurations with an extendable B-weapon bay and a flap-like opening C-barrel.
In addition, in the mid-193/4 fiscal year, funds of over 100,000  Reichsmarks were allocated for the construction of a "dummy for long-range aircraft" . These measurements and the relatively high price for a dummy confirm that at least the project office was seriously involved with this project. The dummy is, to a large extent, the one shown to Adolf Hitler during his visit to the BFW in Augsburg in November 1937. Hitler's adjutant, Nicotnus von Below, describes this event, which was also attended by a high-ranking delegation from the RLM, including Erlard Mtlch and Ernst Udet, in his recollections:
