Another replacement project of the early thirties was the Junkers J56. Like the other replacement projects, the J56 design was intended as improved earlier design with larger payload and range parameters. The J56 was focused on the Junkers K16 with a doubled payload. As the K16 had shown the need for initial private or VIP travel by aircraft (i.e. Batha Shoes) the demands for such special tasks were incorporated into the J56 project. Like the other J54- and J58-projects, the J54 study was abandoned due to the increased demands for design workforce of the Junkers Ju52.
