The T 22 was a single-engine, single-seat high-wing monoplane with fixed  landing gear and tailwheel.  All-metal construction. The wing was in three parts, the middle part is attached directly to the fuselage, and a I-beam supported to the hull. The outer wings were self-supporting. The elevator was supported, each with a V-brace against the hull.
Under the code name "Siegfried" began the construction work, which amounted to 9000 hours to the start of construction of the prototypes in the spring of 1923. Two experimental aircraft were built, serial numbers 407 and 408 The first flight took place in Dessau on November 19, 1923. Then, the first machine was extensively tested and there were unpleasant flying caracteristics. The machine with  full throttle it in level flight behaved with uncontrolled and unwanted rolls around the longitudinal axis. This autorotation could only be eliminated by a new wing with a modified profile.
But the tests and trials went on for several months, so that the second T was ready to fly until April 22, 1924.
Like the T 21 it was on both sides of the fuselage mounted  fuel tanks, which could be thrown in the event of danger.. The two prototypes were equipped with a six cylinder engine with 185 hp BMW IIIa starting power. The planned reconstruction in Fili under the name H 22 as a single-seat fighter aircraft for the Red Air Fleet did not materialize.
The two aircraft were transported to Fili were armed with two 7.62mm machine guns
