Twelve He 51C ordered in 1936. Delivered and assembled in late 1936, in service by 1937. Used in the fighter role. Known fuselage codes 11, 22 and 33 were used. Bulgaria's first true fighter since WW1. Withdrawn from front line service in 1940. Used as an advanced trainer by the Fighter School at Stara Zagora. Last example withdrawn 1942
