DS I training aircraft
Despite all the difficulties, this gave new impetus. In 1925, another new aircraft was built and tested. It was the DS I, which, in contrast to the DP Ila, was intended as a simple, robust training aircraft for beginners. Low wing loading and landing speed and good-natured flight characteristics were the aim of this design. The cantilevered biplane with N-stems had very large wings compared to its predecessors with a wing area of around 24.7 m!. Around six aircraft were built and sold. Raab writes: "It was an excellent training aircraft."
