International interest has been attracted by the Dormer Do.X flying boat, largest craft of its type in the world, which was recently completed and test flown in Germany. The present article is a translation and abstract of a paper delivered by Dr. C. Dornier before the Wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft fur Luftfahrt (Society for the Scientific Study of Aircraft). The Do.X, as is generally known, represents the most recent stage in the evolution of the Dornier type of design and its development is based on the experience of many years in flying boat design.
