Domier had completed two designs for a high-altitude aircraft based on the Do 217 - but with an altitude chamber. The first high-altitude version consisted of a modified Do217A design, which It had a wing with a span of 26.14 m and two DB 601 R/C 3 engines, as well as a GM 1 system and a pressurized cabin. The Dornier Project P 183 fighter aircraft for high altitudes offered exceptional performance. For reconnaissance use, for which three Rb devices were installed in the middle of the fuselage, the aircraft could operate at a speed of 400-480 km/h at altitudes of around 12 km. The aircraft in their sled version were to have a defensive armament of three hand-guided MG 81 Z (each with 1000 rounds per barrel).
