Unfortunately, there is no authentic information about what exactly was meant by the designation DLFW D VIII 2. Clear is only that it is a modification of the model brought out by Deutscher Lloyd Flugzeugwerke Gmb. The nature of the changes compared to the initial type is unknown. There are also no reliable indications as to which specific aircraft it was. One can only speculate whether it was perhaps the DLFW D VIII mentioned above with the expired D-407 approval and that the changes involved an enlargement of the wings . It is certain that the D-407 later actually had larger areas, but these could have been added by the Hüffer works and not already at the Westfalenwerk.
