The Stuttgarter Eindecker [Stuttgart Monoplane], was repaired by the Weltensegler-Werke Company, of Baden-Baden, after being damaged by Paul BRENNER. The aircraft entered the 1921 Rhön competition, entered by the Flugtechnische Verein Stuttgart, with the number 43.
Haupmann STUDENT had the aircraft bought by Alexander Steinmetz, the owner of Weltensegler, to open a flying school at the Wasserkuppe (as well as a biplane, the "Nuremberg"). The school opened immediately after the end of the Rhön competition, at the end of August 1921.
On 3 November 1921, STUDENT took off from the northern slope of the Wassekuppe, with the aim of landing at Abtsroda, where the gliders were to be stored for the approaching winter. Shortly after takeoff, the glider crashed into the slope. STUDENT was seriously injured (skull fracture) but recovered and in the spring of 1922 he gave lectures on gliding in Fulda and Gersfeld, and participated in the foundation of the "Rhönsegelflugverein" in Gersfeld.
